Effective Award-Winning Treatment for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in Bournemouth

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a condition affecting the function and mobility of the hand. A nerve-related issue – symptoms arise when the median nerve is compressed as it passes through the carpal tunnel located in the wrist.

BENEFITS OF CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME TREATMENT

Various reasons can cause carpal tunnel syndrome, to name a few –

  • Genetics / anatomy – some people simply have smaller carpal tunnel which are more likely to experience these issues.
  • Activity – repetitive and constant movements with the hands and wrist can cause inflammation leading to CTS i.e. from desk-based computer jobs or driving for long hours.
  • Conditions which cause inflammation i.e. rheumatoid arthritis can make CTS more prevalent. Alongside this, metabolic or hormonal changes in the body can also increase the likelihood of developing CTS i.e. thyroid imbalance or menopause.

Common symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome –

  • Pain / numbness in one or both hands.
  • Swollen fingers.
  • Tingling or pins & needles.
  • Burning sensation.
  • Hands / fingers clamping.
  • Weakness in one or both hands when trying to grip or pick up an object.

OUR TREATMENT

Here at Back2Wellbeing, we have witnessed a significant increase in CTS enquiries and tailored a form of massage therapy which has had a great success rate. A combination of Swedish and sports massage techniques alongside light manipulation is focused on the shoulder, upper arm, forearm, wrist and hands with the overall aim to relieve and ease the symptoms associated with CTS. This form of therapy is non-invasive and does not cause much pain for the client.

We will always encourage the application of alternative therapies as opposed to surgical treatments or injections to treat carpal tunnel syndrome. The majority of our clients suffering from CTS have opted to have regular treatment with us rather than an invasive surgery offered by the NHS.
